HPC toivottaa onnellista uutta vuotta 2014!

Helsinki Poetry Connectionin viides vuosi, ensimmäinen yhdistyksenä, on ollut komea, railakas, opettavainen ja inspiroiva -- ainakin näin järjestävän tahon näkökulmasta. Olen nähnyt kuinka sanataiteilija toisensa jälkeen on noussut lavalle tekstiensä kanssa, legendat ja nousevat tähdet sulassa sovussa sukupolvien, näkökulmien ja äänien upeassa virrassa. Voin sanoa olevani etuoikeutettu ja onnekas saadessani liittää oman ääneni tähän runouden suureen kameleonttikuoroon vielä ensikin vuonna.

HPC:n vakituinen toiminta tulee jatkumaan myös vuonna 2014 vahvana: Kiiski Open Mic, HPC Goes Puisto ja Poetry Jam -klubi tulevat lunastamaan taas kerran paikkansa Suomen runouskentän avoimimpina ja hyväntuulisimpina tapahtumina, joissa kansainväliset kunniavieraat ja kotimaiset taiturit tyyliin katsomatta tulevat jälleen vavahduttamaan runopäitä juuri sillä itsellään -- sanataiteella, runoudella, oman äänen ja ajatusten väkevällä harmonialla.

Helsinki Poetry Connection toivottaa runopäille ympäri Suomen ja maailman upeaa, armorikasta ja runollista Uutta Vuotta 2014!! HOJO HOJO

The Helsinki Poetry Connection has a lot to be grateful for, and a lot to take pride in, as we come to the close of 2013, the fifth year of the HPC's ongoing quest for new and exciting forms of poetry and the spoken word. This has also been the HPC's first year as a registered association, a state of affairs that has required much of its board members and active poets, but which has also brought to fruition some of the most memorable and inspiring poetry events that I have ever had the pleasure to take part in. The HPC's mission is to make good on the promise its own name invokes, to create and maintain CONNECTIONS between people, words, thoughts and ideas in the form of amazing poetry, rap, music and spoken word -- and I think it's safe to say that this mission, neverending though it is, has been accomplished this past year, with the help of hundreds of poets and poetry-lovers from all over the world.

The HPC will continue to provide creative and inviting opportunities for poetic experiences in 2014, with all three of our regular clubs (Kiiski Open Mic, HPC Goes Puisto and the Helsinki Poetry Jam) in full bloom, complete with national and international stars of the written, sung and spoken word. We hope to see and hear you there -- I know I'm going to be reaching for the mic as often as I can, with newfound vision and poise.
