Tervehdys runokansa! Jamit ovat palanneet ja luvassa on taas kolme klubi-iltaa pitkin vuoden 2015 kevättä.
Poetry Jam -klubin avajaistapahtumassa torstaina 19.2.2015 nähdään jälleen monipuolinen kattaus kotimaista sanataidetta alkaen klo 19. Cafe Mascotiin (Neljäs linja 2, 00530 Helsinki) saapuu kokenut runotar Katariina Vuorinen uuden kokoelmansa kanssa sekä vuoden 2014 lavarunouden Suomen mestari Jere Vartiainen. Illan musiikillisesta sanataiteesta vastaa helsinkiläinen kokeilevan popin tulokas Kasper yhtyeineen sekä englanninkielistä lyriikkaa ja lumoavaa elektronista musiikkia yhdistävä hiphop-duo Senqi feat. dj Owl in the Woods.
Illan päättävässä open mic -osuudessa kaikki etukäteen ilmoittautuneet yleisön jäsenet pääsevät lavalle esittämään omia tekstejään. Osuuden juontaa runoilija Lasse Hauerwaas. Poetry Jamin avajaisklubin pääjuontajana toimii runoilija Kasper Salonen, ja levymusiikkia tapahtumassa tarjoilee englantilainen dj Dan. Klubin järjestävät Helsinki Poetry Connection ja Nuoren Voiman Liitto, ja tilaisuuteen on vapaa pääsy. Tervetuloa!

Ahoy, poetry-lovers! The wait is over and the Poetry Jam club is back with the first of its three springtime clubs.
The first Poetry Jam night of the year will start at 7 pm on Thursday, February 19 in Helsinki's cultural headquarters, Cafe Mascot (Neljäs linja 2, 00530). Performing on stage are esteemed poet Katariina Vuorinen with her brand new poetry collection, the winner of 2014's Finnish national poetry slam, Jere Vartiainen, and up-and-coming experimental lyrical pop outfit Kasper from Kallio. The last set of the night will be from hip-hopper and cultural activist Senqi along with his buddy, dj Owl in the Woods.
As always, the night will conclude with the voices of the audience -- that means you! All those who sign up in advance to the open mic portion of the evening can come on stage and shout their poetry from the mountaintops. The open mic will be hosted by poet Lasse Hauerwaas, while the evening proper is lead by Kasper Salonen. British spinner dj Dan is responsible for the breaktime grooves. The Poetry Jam is organized by the Helsinki Poetry Connection and Nuoren Voiman Liitto, and entry is free of charge. Welcome!
